Well bad news its stuffed, each side should play whatever, whenever, cd, cd album, cd-r, cd-rw, i must tell you that this is a very old dual cd player, even thou there releiablity is mad, it's just to old, for any mobile work, and you will have costly repairs in future, say you paid $100 for it, sounds to me the board inside has problems, why i say that, and not the laser, because there playing both playing music, but one side effects the other, it may need a laser aliment one one side to play both sides to play singles, and albums!
be ready to pay around $400 to fix, i could be wrong, so speak to JLS Doncaster, ask for "joe"!
my opinion get rid of it asap, buy brand new Denon from Factory sound, or if its a cheap dual unit talk to AVE Dandenong, both will last you years, play mp3, and the newer models are easyer to mix on, the 2000f mk2, was hard to mix on for me!!

mm the continous playing albums thing could be like an 'auto cue' or something like that...?
Explain what you mean a little further,
does it not play anything that isn't a mixed compilation or does it just stop between tracks,
if it only plays mixed compilations and not 12" mix's then you've probably got some sort of possessed denon that can read the cover of the cd, cuz thats sounds majorly fkddd up....
Did you think of testing it before you bought it?

Explain what you mean a little further,
no, lets say i have a cd playing on one side, it wont let me play it on the other.. also, if i eject the other side, the side that is playing stops.
thats it..
when i bought it, he said i have to get the band tightened that opens one side of the cd player, it cant open properly, he said it would cost 10-20 bucks, true?

My brother knows Dean... I went the other day with him to get cables and dean gave us a huge discount.
I was playing with the equipment in there for about an hour... It was fun.
