"Funkshaker" - Review

It was not a bad night even though there was less then 100 people there. I rocked up at 5.00pm and there was about 6 people in line not a good sight. They didnt let anyone in untill about 5.30-5.45pm. I got inside and it was a very good venue with plenty of room to sit down relax, pool tables, and the upstairs room which wasnt open. Music was very good except they didnt play any trance so i was annoyed about that. It picked up around 7.00pm but not really as not much vibe. Some songs got played like 3 times which people were not happy about.

Over all 4/10 because lack of people=no vibe
Music: 10/10
Crowd: 10/10 95% were girls no fights and no heros which was good just need more people.

Next week hopefully be better.

Awesome Venue, Great music..... only thing left is to raise the awareness of the event...

Rome wasnt built in a day niether were all our past events.... That is what Funkshaker is about - clean cut crowd who are there to enjoy themselves, the events will only be bigger and better each and every time...

Obviously "Funkshaker" is a fake account who didn't attend the event and has too much time on their hands. They should spend more time improving their own 'events' rather than putting others down.

Also, I don't see any "bragging" by either event manager here for what they did at Metro. They're allowed to say they ran it because it shows they have experience in underages, unlike many events currently being planned. If you actually show me proof that they've "bragged," then I'll relinquish that argument.

I didn't imagine there would be a huge amount of people going to this underage on these holidays. You have people that are going to be studying for upcoming exams, the underage is located is in Ringwood and it's the first events (so that means that there has been no prior oppurtunity for people to tell their friends to go to it). If you actually look at clubs such as Fluid when it first opened back when it was called Envy, it didn't get a sh*tload of people coming through the door (Jem, can you back me up on this one? I'm thinking I am right but am not 100% sure).

They throw mad ass Overage Events from what i'm told and i've read of the acts that they bring down and hey if they can do it for Underage Scene, i dont see why the **** not. And just like i've told everybody else, if This so called Future Entertainment gets involved. There just setting the bar which gives Event Managers something to become just as good as.

For the last 8 years or so, Grumpy Promotions and the boys at Metro always set the Bar at a limit and it would always be put over by the amazing acts that were braught down, for the last 2 Years Grumpy Promotions have set the bar pretty high with barely any underages other then Next down in Frankston getting any sort of a crowd near what they do. If Future comes in with what ur pretty much saying, there just setting a new standard for the underage scene and it will give something for those who run underages for the joy of giving underages somewhere to go, they shouldnt have a problem with it.

Firstly... i can understand your perspective...
However i really do think you have it all wrong. I don't understand how what you are doing is any better than what you are complaining about.

Secondly... future is not running anything underage. Myself and Erol are running events in various areas that do not have youth events, some of these events may not work but we will try our best. Yes we work for future clubs on other projects... the only representation that Future Clubs has is the access over a number of venues in which we are running underage events at... this is where people may be confused.

Thirdly... We are totally not about making money, if we were about making money then we would run bigger events with cheaper entertainment, cheaper giveaways, in cheaper venues, with no promoter prizes and we wouldn't work with other people. Ofcourse as we do this for a living, we do need to make money out of it but our number one goal is to provide quality events that will last in our patrons minds for years to come!

my last point is this... i have nothing to proove to you or anyone however i would much rather you not tarnishing anyones reputation because you are angry over what someone else has done to you, especially when it has nothing to do with us.

hmm funny thing is Funkshaker will grow each time we open the doors that is the way we operate with any of our events... metro when myself morello and lil joe started it... our first event was 600 the next one was 1400 and then FULL HOUSE Next at frankston was 200 then 600 and finally FULL HOUSE......

"Funkshaker" 24th Review

Well a much better night then last week, more people and better music.

I turned up at 5.30pm and already they had the same amount of crwod that they did last week, The first DJ was a bit of a tool mixing RnB into House or pushing the next button. Took a while to get the dance floor packed but once it did it was good, Like last week heard the same songs like 3 times and people knew about it and wernt happy. During the last hour it was the best as they played some Hard Trance which was good and got everyone on the floor and some nice circles were going :)

Overall:7/10
Music: 6/10: Need to stop playing the same songs over and over again and also not to push the next track button.
Crowd: 10/10: About even but i think there were more girls then guys, older crowd that was clean and no fights. About 120 people there.

Well done guys fix the music and all will be good, cant wait for the next one.
