Hey guys and girls,
I wont talk much because i want you all to have your say on the topic.
You get 3 warnings before your car is taken off you for good.
1st Warning: Car taken off you for 48 hours
2nd Warning: Car taken off you for 4 days (I think)
3rd Offence: Car taken off you for good
Its bullshit.....the government dont own our cars....but they own our licenses. You can even get your mum or dads car taken off you. You have to pay a fine and the tow truck too im quite sure.
Personally i rekon its bullshit. The weekend it came out 3 cars were taken away. 2xHoldens 1xFord being 20days later 330cars have been taken away. Its going to cause alot of high speed chases on our roads which is going to kill people and put alot of people in danger.
I mate of mine on the first weekend got a warning when he didnt even rip a burnout and it was his mate.....so my mate has a warning...didnt have his car taken off him.
What are your thoughts on the laws?

In a way it is fair enough. Cars are there to get you from subject A to subject B. If you simply don't know how to obey laws then don't drive, simple as that.
Now on the other hand it's not fair that they confiscate your car.
Maybe it was their last resort to put in place the new law. Look at it this way, not many people learn from recieving fines or demerit points, but when your car is confiscated, thats when you'll learn.

You watch the amount of crime rise. The govenment complain so much.....why dont they open up for drag strips.....There is one apparently beign built in Yakanda which is on the way to Sorrento, There is Heathcote and Calder which is ages away for me and Easter Suburb people and Sandown which is only open once a year for Easternats weekend.

u know why they wont open it up.. because it wont make any money. u think how much they get for tickets, road worthys etc. Like for example they stoped the majority of traffic on chapz but they wont complety shut it because they can make any money from it.

Its going to cause alot of high speed chases on our roads which is going to kill people and put alot of people in danger.
Why would high speed chases result? im confused.
It's good there getting tougher for obvious reasons, i just hope there aint cops out there that will use this to their advantage.

there would be high speed chases when the cops try and get them.
if people weren't that retarted to put themselves in danger and others, it wouldnt need to result in high speed chases

welcome the new laws, they are going to filter out the idiots on our roads.
and as for the increase in crime rate/high speed chases ... bah ... you should do debating, nice use of the good ol' slippery slope argument

taking you car off you for good though is way too harsh...people have put their time/effort/heart and most of all hard earnt money into something they can enjoy and to just get it taken off you..

they don't "just" get it taken off them ... and if they respected the laws as much as they love their prized cars there wouldnt be an issue

i honestly dont think its fair taking their cars, yes they shouldn't have been doing what they were doing in the first place, but taking their cars of them for good is just taking it to far! just take there licences off them and take there cars for like a month or something. after all that money to buy the car and effort and time to most likely 'do it up' and then just loose it forever for being a d***head, thats unfair!

this new law is bullshit, taking your car off you is tight doesnt matter wht oyu do they should have the power to take it from you. and cops will be pricks and pick up cars which look hotted up bu aint doing aything, just to be ball breakers. This aint gonna stop drag racing, who says everyone with a done up car races it. heaps of cars look like there drag cars but they are more show than anything. i hope they take this law away before december or im fucked for my P's.

you have nothing to worry about unless the cops actually see you dragging, or doing burnouts etc. people with hotted up cars that are just for show will be fine...

Okay it works this way
Cops chase "hoons" hoons tend to own both visually and performance wise modded cars.
What do cops do when they realise they can't catch hoons?
They pull aside every modified car they see and question them. It's kind of their way from going from A -> C. Yes your mods may be legal but nonetheless if cops vaguely even THINK your car resembles a car that was apart of an illegal drag or your license plate was mentioned by someone or any single thing that some how links you back to an illegal drag or whatever, they will take action.
Obviously it's bullshit that they take your car off you, but they're the law honestly I'd rather pay the cash to get my car back then get my license taken away for what 6-12 months and go through court cases and bullshit. But thats just me. Besides like I always say, if you do something illegal or you're apart of it, just be ready for the consequences when you get caught and dont fucking whinge about it. and just like Thieves, someone doesn't have to steal something to be a criminal, if you're just there with the person you're still an accomplice. Cops will not see that its your friend ripping the burnout or not, they see your car, they see bald tires, they see mods they do something about it.
