Charisma Review 29/06/06

So how did the event go, there was alot of hype to this event so I was assuming that it was going to go well

How were all the special features of the club?

Okay, after many posts by Maurice and promoters I expected this to be a promising event. Mind you it was a great night with great people, but this is where i start to complain...

1. 3 Dollars for a small cup coke? I mean what the hell.. I can buy a Coke in a can for $2.00. Free water at least, thank god. Glowsticks were $2 each but I had $5 so the girl let me have 4 :)

2. The damn Techno! It gave me a headache, just a constant loop of stupid Techno songs that killed the crowd.

3. I didnt see Jason MIdro at all perform. Is this misleading or he just didnt bother to show up?

4. The only Djs I enjoyed was Lupco (for a bit when it wasnt all hard techno) and the RNB DJ who i think was an-d? and samus jay. They played songs with meaning!

5. The bubble machine was good, atleast they promised that, and the snow machine. OMG i ran away when it came on, people were walking around with white shiit in their hair and then the UV lights shone making it look like they had bad dandruff.

6. What was with the people dancing infront of the other Djs like idiots? not hte good rnb dancer, like the stupid "wave hands in the air" dancers on the stage? everyone stopped dancing to watch and they were normal clubbers i think.

7. Atleast from one of the special guests, Samus Jay showed up and fixed the crowd that was just bored of constant heavy techno/electro. Lupco finished the night with energy! Respects to Lupco! Good job Djs!

8. More people were sitting/standing around the edges by half way through the night. It was funny. It looked like an AFL match where your team is losing.

9. the lighting was cool. the laser was awesome too :D but there was wayyy too much smoke. you couldnt see 1m in front of u at one point cos the joint was engulfed in smoke. it was scented bubbles smoke which was cool.

10. gasp t-shirts wer given out as promised. so much for "teeshirts will be given out to the ladies" i saw more guys walking around wearing them. they're worth $50 each though :o that was awesome. JayJay figurine soft toy things were give out too hehehe.

11. there were at least 2 people going around taking pics i was asked so many times whether i wanted a pic LOL.

so thats my review, all in all, i think if there were more people there, there would be more of a hype. its really hard to have a good time when u look around and most people are sitting down looking bored, or standing around the edges watching the dancefloor.

good luck charisma if you decide to run future events.

Ok Tessa formaly know to everone else as KC.

You were warned not to come your were not welcomed.
Since when do asians were lebanon tops.
And you need to travel interstate to get a gig because u cant get one in melbourne

1. Would u rather flat soft drinks on the bar for yourself to pour, and it was an saftey issue.

2. LOL wat u do think techno is. all this vocal top 40 crap. if u want i can give a genre discription if u want. Note if Jason midro did attented all you would of heard was more techno.

3. Jason was unable to attent as he was hospilized. I'm sure u already know y so poor excuse.

4. At evey event you have to cater for all styles of music. I ur not prepared to accept all forms then dont come. LOL even funnier, u recived a free entry and yet u are still complaining.

5. Did u not hear the people go nutz when the bubbles and snow machine went off. UM excuse me the theme was "WINTER WHITE" so everthing is white. another poor excuse.

6. People were on stage having fun, since when was it not allowed to enjoying ur self. If you ask people if they werent having fun they will laugh at you.

7. U cant complain there ha.

8. Sitting down when, where and how. ok techno might not be everyones piece of cake, but i can assure you when the 2nd set of rnb came on the everone was dancing.

9. There was nothing wrong with the smoke, It gave the foggy atmosphere that comes with winter.

10. I dont see u complaining there. if u didnt like it then why accpet the t-****.... no comeback there.

11. You yourself were taking photos so stop lying.

Mind you it was a great night with great people, but this is where i start to complain... If you didnt enjoying it then why are u saying it was a good crowd. if is the crowd was bored would they be not a good crowd. omg women for a smart girl you sure are stuped. Stop contradicting yourself.

lol it was off tap for me :) but thats cause there was actually room to rock it and it wasnt body on body sweating....what elsee....there was no seats and half the crowd was sitting of the floor...kind of funny if you ask me......um oh and they didnt let anyone in till llike 5:20 ..on the pass it said doors open 4:30 :-s ....small crowd butt good cause i think almost everyone in the club got a gasp shirt:P all in all i rekon it was a good night...amd music compliments to all dj's on the night and a great crowd with no fights :) more people would have made the night go off though...oh one more thing..the venue was sick..like really good except for the no seating thing:s congratulations for the night i rekon it wasmadd :) and bryan in his pimpin white suit :P haha

Well I went down to Charisma with a couple of my friends, first of all 4.30 entry? No, try after 5. I ended up going next door to Foot Locker and buying a t-shirt to take my mind off the freezing weather and the girls infront of us in their tiny clothes.

I agree with everything Tessa said. Those guys on stage were just blah, altho they did entertain me with the way they were dancing. The music was really good, didn't have a problem with it. RnB became a bit too much, but none the less was good. I agree with the seating, seats please! And the smoke was way to much, when we first walked in I tripped twenty times coz I couldn't see the floor it was that smokey.

Overall the music was so good! Crowd was blah, needed more people with a bit more class (sorry, but some of the people there were :O) but yeah. Oh and thumbs up for keeping up the promise of bubbles and t-shirts! Good stuff :D Ooo it was also a bit hard to find,
we walked right passed it but then realised we missed it when we saw these girls in whiteee.

OMG.. I just watched the videos and i am SPEWING i wasn't there. To bad I was sick on that day. I was really looking forward to this. One major thing i love about Charisma, would probably have to be its main emphasis on hard style, trance, electro and teckers. Once again, great job Maurice.

Charisma @ The Hi Fi Bar was nuts, perfect venue, perfect size & perfect gear for the night.

If you are complaining about the number of people who did not attend then you got beaf with someone who works with charisma.
Would you rather be dancing under peoples arm pits, and not dance with your friends or try make a circle to dance in?

As i said, perfect size, perfect crowd, 3 girls to 1 guy lmaoo... and we played every style of music in the main room beause not enough was packed to open the rnb room.

House at the start, played some great tracks by lupco, then Raff jumped on for a start intro of ELECTRO, 1 hour of rnb then back too full electro where tracks like the new electro mix of *What is love* or *Knockout - Criez D* as prooved again we are the number 1 club to introduce fresh tracks to the crowd we bring.

I dont no why tessa aka KC would say techno (which if you know your music it was hard dance - commercial) play alot ill give you a *LOL* we only gave the crowd 50 minutes - AND THEY WANTED MORE!

People went nuts after we gave them the snow and bubbles that was falling from the sky, the music was nuts with at least 50 minutes towards the end of Hard dance, it wasnt Techno.. it was hard dance / commercial! :)

A good 140 people still dancing towards the end, dance floor was packed so the night went well.

To much "MONEY" has been put into every single event, This charisma that was on LAST NIGHT, had one of the best fcknin Lighting systems you will ever get since 14 yrs ago lol (Sarcasm) and the sound was so loud, the whole venue was shaking:P

So let me tell you right now, that the entry price was possibley to cheap that we understood that these boys and girls wouldnt have that much money after the 2nd week of school holidays.

MAIN ROOM - fits 800 people and as far as me and the other people that attended the event, it was pritty packed, but we needed an extra, lets say another 200 people to make the main room "comfortably full" - DO YOU UNDERSTANDD THAT?

So next time anyone comes up to me saying that " i asked the secuirty and they told me this is how many people walked through the door" have the guts to come up stairs with ME " The manager " and ask the security have you chatted to this person before?

Live with it buddys, this event went fkn WELL!

Regardless with the amount of people, everything was fuckin worth the shot and if your gonna complain about drinks, go complain to every other fkn tom dick and harry who trys there fkn hardest to make people like you HAPPY!

The Hi Fi bar is perfect in every way while we organise the lighting systems every time we run there, Charisma @ Hi Fi bar is the pefect night spot for you to club.

Good Night Kept me entertaind, had fun with all the people.....Really goes to show numbers mean nothing unless your going to pick up :s...But yer good job Maurice and Bryan, A good Crowd, Same as Bond Lounge i can see why they chose Rennaissence and Yours and not the ones between :) Very clean older u18 crowed!!!

charisma was awesome! i had a great time, it was worth it, not too many people (which i love so much so u can dance FREELY without bumping into people), the music was awesome, the bubbles, i loved it, luckily i wore white! well i was told to wear white haha.......i was dancing on the dance floor and saw this one awesome girl, she's a really good dancer, i mean very good...don't know if you people noticed but she's awesome...she wore a white top, white belt, black tights and high heels....wonder who she is.

anyway, wonderful night, can't wait for the next event!! :D

It brings you what others dont offer.

We do this because we love it and where not money hungry, we do it for the excitement and enjoyment.

These days, events have lost there touch and all they think about is making money, and dont give 2 stuffs about the individuals.

yes i agree, charisma was a high quality event but I'm about to clear somethings up for "DJ Loggie" aka Maurice.

No, I am not Tessa, add her to MSN yaself and talk to her. She told me her browser isn't working properly at home, so I offered to log in for her and post for her ie "copy, paste" cos I refused to post what she wanted to say under my own name because I do not agree with all that she says. But yeah, I do have a second account (as do many people on MU) but I havent used it for agggeess! MONTHS!

You see people going around with "Osaka" and "Tokyo" teeshirts who are clearly not "Japanese". We even see people with random Chinese scripture on their teeshirts. I don't complain (or abuse for that matter).

And I'm in Canberra because I go to University there, if you really want to know, I'm majoring in Arabic Studies as well as Management and Marketing. As if I would move to Canberra to run udnerage events, it's a hobby

Onto business, I have around 160 photos to put up as well as a short "movie" put together from the clips i recorded from the event, bubbles, ppl dancing, crazy lasers :) I will work out how to put them up soon :)

the event was very well planned and creative. more promotion might have made the event even "better" but look, other underage events don't bring in snow and bubble machines and give away a ton of Gasp t-shirts. Charisma is a HIGH quality event without a doubt.

and from Tessa: can u put on MU snow machines make us look like we have dandruff thanks.

Excuse me.. You need to make the night good for yourself. You cannot depend your night on the amount of people that attend an event. Most events these days don't get a full house, but people still have an awsome time.
