arsenal have some fantastic youth players (fabregas,etc) but untill they mature or wenger makes a big signing i think that they'll still be in the top 3, but won't be able to challenge chelsea untill about 2 years time.
well barca beat chelsea:P so did boro (4-1) teams can beat us, its just that they expect to lose before the game's started. as a chelsea fan though, i think we should stop spending on stars and focus on brinign players through the youth system.
hehe don't worry, we;ll lose mroe games next year:P

With us (Chelsea) is that we possess that much money that we can do ANYTHING with that money. Whether that be transfers, developing a youth system, etc etc....

Now you say that we should put it towards the youth system. Chelsea's youth system is fine right now, we have brought up some GREAT youth players from past to present. What we NEED to do with the youth system is develop it further so that we can start matching up the likes of the Ajax Youth Campus which is the best in the world. Or even Feyenoord's one for that matter. The way they work it is they develop the player from say 10 years old and then sell them off or get scouts to come to sessions and send them away at the age of 18 to top notch clubs.

But then again, Chelsea's hierarchy are not concerned with youth, they are more concerned at having the BEST players in Europe and being able to field 3 teams. Which they can, they have their top 11 and on the bench is another 5 or 6 players just as good and just as capable.

You can pretty much say that whilst the Russian Royality is there, Chelsea are going to be raking in the players. What i DONT agree with is that they just offer ridculous amounts of money for players to transfer to Chelsea, and they can never knock the deal back it's THAT good. Take Crespo for example, he sat on the bench for match after match before realising he was useless to Chelsea and left for loan at AC Milan where he could PLAY. Sure, players love money but nobody is going to tell me they'd rather be getting paid to sit on their asses rather than play. Their whole lives they've wanted to play soccer and be paid squillions. Nobody dreams of being signed for say AC Milan and sitting on the bench.

Now, back on track....yes, even I can admit that we have had sh*t success in Europe, but i guess that will come in time and it is bound to happen sooner or later...I hope.
