Ok, if i make a website or whatever on something like freewebs.com, can i then host it at a site like www.dot.tk and it will then become www.(mysite).tk? Im looking for something that is free and i dont have to pay. That's why im not making it a .com or .com.au site and just something like that TK thing. Any ideas or someone that can help me out in detail?

i've never heard of the .tk domain, you'd have to check the information listed on their website to truly know what's going on, as normally for a domain name you need to register with the DNS, which is seperate from your webhost

.tk is just a FREE redirection service.
you get a domain name (www.<domainname>.tk) and when people go to that, they are re-directed to your site on freewebs (instead of having to type out the full freewebs address)
if you dont use the .tk redirection service (another one is .cjb.net) then your site will just be
freewebs.com/<sitename>
freewebs hosts your files/website
dot.tk redirects users to the site

So, basically if i create a site on Freewebs, when they type in www.freewebs.com/mysite
it will go to:
www.mysite.tk
correct or no :S ?

I didnt know you can create a website on dot.tk *confused*
I thought that dot.tk was to make your website (wherever it was created) into a www.WHATEVER.tk

thats what i said
.tk is a redirection service. it doesnt host your website (thats what freewebs is for), its merely providing a shorter name

Yeah a shorter name is what i want though
Therefore im asking the question again. Can i make my freewebs site a .tk name? If so, how?

1. Make a site
2. Upload it to freewebs
3. take note of the freewebs address (freewebs.com/sitename)
4. go to www.dot.tk
5. register for a .tk domain name
6. Fill out the form with the appropriate details
and it should be done.
Now when you go to www.<sitename>.tk, youll be directed to your site at www.freewebs.com/<sitename>

Beau...dude you're way confusing yourself.
Nsonic explained it pretty simply:|
"so i have to make my site on Front Page or Dreamweaver yeah? I cant make it on Freewebs and then go to dot.tk and register it there? Because either method gives me a freewebs address like (freewebs.com/sitename). ?
I don't know about either freewebs or tk, but does freewebs give you tools to make your own site (like geotcities)? Because if it does it doesn't matter if you make a site through that way or make one in a web site editing program and upload it to freeweb, it sitll gives you a freeweb adress right, because it's hosted at freewebs. So it doesn't matter what method you use. Then all you do is use the re-direct feature from dot tk.
I don't get where you're getting confused???

Heidi, i think you're right about that lol i dont know why i was confused, it's all good now though.

Yes
I cant make it on Freewebs and then go to dot.tk and register it there?
Unless freewebs has a web-interface for making websites (like tripod has/had), no you cant make it in freewebs. but you will be uploading your site (which you made with frontpage or dreamweaver) to freewebs. where it will be given an address that people can type to find it
www.freewebs.com/<sitename>
to make things simpler, you go to dot.tk to get
www.<sitename>.tk
Because either method gives me a freewebs address like (freewebs.com/sitename). ?
typing www.freewebs.com/<sitename> takes you to the website
typing www.<sitename>.tk takes you to www.freewebs.com/<sitename> which takes you to the website
Just follow the steps i listed above. and you'll be fine.
If you cant figure it out, you dont deserve internet access :P
