A mate of mine is a really good DJ, he is under 18, however he has completed his course at a Melbourne DJ school, and he did a gig at an over age bar/lounge thing. I really want him to get some more gigs. Can any of you experienced, out there DJ's please help me out on what advice I can give him on getting some gigs? He is really talented and I know he will go far. Especially with Summer coming up, there will be a lot of parties and clubs happening, how do people get involved in those?

Dj's have told me: just to get out there, connections are 'very' good to have but 'very very' hard to get. He should make a CD and send it out to clubs so they can give their opinions about it, maybe even get a set here and there. But the bottom line is to really show what you have and to get it out there in the scene as far as possible.
