now with the end of the 3rd season of idol i would like to say that i have noticed that not only have the rating gone down but so has the talent of the winner...i am appaled at the fact that Kate beat Emily but thats just me what do you think???

also i would like you all to ponder this idea...dance idol. where instead of having singing auditiond you dance and the winner would get a agent and a film clip to dance in...the boost into a professional dancing career...what do we think??

Just out of curiosity but do any of you sing or do any kind of musical instrument? because if you did i think you would appreciate both girls and the talent they both have, they are both amazing singers and there say that your 'appaled' that Kate won is so stupid. She has a fantastic voice as does Emily, so i was extremely happy they both made it that far.

yer casey donovan only won because she was fat and dicko said she couldnt. i do agree both girls are talented i was really amased that kate won just because emily is so much 'cooler' and appeals to the age range that i 'thought' would be voting...i was wrong. and i HAVE played a musical instrument acctually, violin and guitar and iv been in a choir. i think this years top 13 was alot better too acctually. also now that ive seen the singers have a go i want a show to give us dancers/ performers a go

Well, I've been a singer for the past 11 years, and I'm a bit annoyed at Idol atm.

For starters, last year, Anthony should have won, plain and simple. He was a better singer, a better performer, better looking, and for some reason the majority of Australia voted for a 16 year old fat chick that's voice isn't anything special or different from the rest.
I'm lost.

This year, as far as I'm concerned, Emily was by far, a MUCH better singer than Kate.
Yes, Kate is a very good singer, but Emily proved herself to be at a much higher level on many many occasions.
Any professional singer/musician (and I'm not saying I'm a either of those yet) would be able to tell you Emily was more vocally talented than Kate, and put on a way better performance.

The first Idol would be the only one I was happy with, Guy was the best singer out of the lot, and he won. He sold records, and he's still popular today.

Casey... kind of just disappeared... and rolls out once in a while to sing a song.

At least this year, I'm happy because Kate and Emily both have voices that will sell plenty of records, both great singers. This years Australian Idol wont end up being a dud that nobody wants to hire.. thank god.

Even if it is only 11 to 14 year olds that buy their albums, it doesnt really matter, that is a massive age group for a fan base and they could sell millions of records on them alone. And i also i dont think it would be just them who would buy their album, maybe not teenagers our age but i know older people in their 30's or whatever would buy, my mums friends always buy all idols albums, no idea why but yeah.

Oh dear. Here we go.

If any of you actually had any REAL appreciation for any type of music, you would realise that this actually isn't a question of "better", it's a situation of difference. Kate and Emily have hugely different styles and I agree with Sarah (sexy_saraa?) that it would have been awesome for either to win because they BOTH have such beautiful and different qualities/characteristics to their voice. Kate has the sultry alto tones with gorgeous vibrato and timbre, whilst Emily has the strong brassy soprano sound. Both styles will, of course, appeal to different people but neither of them is necessarily "better" than the other.

And as for Casey Donovan. Are you all really that stupid? Have you been hiding under a rock for the last year? Maybe if you opened your eyes and ears, you would notice that Casey has actually been getting in touch with her Aboriginal roots since winning Idol and trying to use what she has gained from the competition to help solve various problems withing the Aboriginal community. So NO, she hasn't just dissappeared because she couldn't sell records, she's actually doing something extremely worthwhile and Im so happy that she's so compassionate about something that not many people give that much thought to. So shut the f*ck up the people who are bagging the sh*t out of her, it's so disrespectful and shallow (oh so is calling her a fat ugly b*tch too by the way).
