Well after the heart break of missing my first metro since I started going I was over the moon to be back again! Me and Brendan B got there nice and early cause all entrants for the DJ comp *Shines his uber 1337 cool bagde* had to be there by 4 o’cluck. Before entering we met up with Matt C & Gorgeous. Then I went inside while the others sadly had to wait out.

I went up to the Retro room where the other entrants for the comp were mucking around and practicing and right from the start I could tell I had some tough competition. After a little showing off on my behalf Berri & Josie showed up and I was treated to an onslaught of clinging hugs which I’m not going to deny that I enjoyed :P. We then saw that the very friendly DJ Rob M we felt it was time to go down and say hello and soon the night was underway. From every report I got, the line to get in reached down to Exhibition St. and stayed that way for quite a long time.

Tonight was one of the few nights where I hardly saw the main room because I was much more interested in the DJ comp. The comp was being judged by Metro’s DJs Dwayne & the sadly unavaliable Joe Sofo. First up on the decks was DJ T playing a choice selection of house music. Next was DJ Pix mixing up between house & progressive, also spinning one of the best tunes of the night Adam Freeland Vs. Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit. After Robbie P was… ME! HURRAH!!! I figured since no one had played RnB I would do the honours and give the crowd what they were yearning for. But I ended up going back to my roots and playing trance then into more harder stuff to finish it off :D. After me was DJ X-Centrik playing a very choice selection of the finest of banging music which I must admit was quite to my liking! And lastly we had DJ Mark O playing another mix of Trance and more Banging stuff. In the end the winners were DJ T, DJ Pix & Myself. Sadly I wasn’t actually there when they announced the winners because I was trying to get Suzie inside :P. In the end she got in and everyone was happy.

While this massive DJ comp was happening there was also the Dance comp going on, on the main stage. Sadly this was right in the middle of my set so when the greatest dancer of the bunch *cough*Josie*cough* came out the whole room cleared out, even the judges were more interested in watching the dancing. But she won so I’m glad she really got the crowd going :D. Twas a winning night for all of MU and I’ll expect to see everyone from the forums down next Wednesday for the finals.

One upsetting thing about my night was the fact I missed out on DJ Papa Smurf’s set. However I did manage to hear the mighty uproar in congratulations to him right at the end so I’m sure he blew the crowd away! That was then equalled in mightyness by the roar for Melbourne’s most sought after DJ Phil G to close off the night.

All in all I had a blast of a time! The comps were full of talent, the guest DJ had so much talent, and the crowd was definitely full of talent … So Talent Time we salute you! 10 out of 10!
